WHAT IS POWDER COATING AS A PROCESS?
At the industrial level, the most common method of protecting metal surfaces, such as steel or aluminium, is lacquering or painting, this being a special procedure for protecting the surface of steel or aluminium with a layer of applied paint, which can be powder or liquid. It is a finish that allows the whole range of colors and brightness. Paints can be liquid or powder.
TYPES OF RESINS WE USE AT CUBSON POWDER COATINGS
HYBRID (EPOXY-POLYESTER)
Paint consisting of polyesters resins hardened by epoxy resins. It is mainly used for all those parts that will be given an interior use (lighting, metal furniture, appliances, toys, etc.).
Not recommended for outdoor parts.
Paint consisting of pure epoxy resins. They are functional coatings and there are several types depending on the hardener used and are characterized by a high resistance to chemicals.
They were the first resins developed. They are mainly used for parts requiring high chemical resistance (pipelines), electronics and primers for outdoor parts.
EPOXI
POLYESTER
TGIC
Paint consisting of polyesters resins hardened by triglycylisocyanourate (T.G.I.C). Its use is mainly intended for outdoor parts (aluminum carpentry, garden furniture, automotive, etc.), although nowadays its use tends to disappear due to the toxic character of the hardener TGIC.

Paint consisting of polyesters resins hardened with hydroxy alkylamine or glycidyl ester.
It is suitable for outdoor parts and has good mechanical properties such as impact resistance and good adhesion. This type of paint is increasingly widespread because it is not toxic because it does not present T.G.I.C., which does not pose a risk to workers.
A powder paint, unlike a liquid paint, is characterized by the absence of solvents. This paint is electrostatically deposited on the surface of the profile and then hardened by polymerization in temperature furnaces which, depending on the type of paint family to apply, are around 200 °C.
